Die Norm enthält eine Auflistung aller jener Bauteile, die ohne Nachweise durch Versuche gemäß ÖNORM B 3800 Teil 2 in die Brandwiderstandsklassen F 30 (brandhemmend), F 60 (hochbrandhemmend), F 90 (brandbeständig) oder F 180 (hochbrandbeständig) eingereiht werden können. Voraussetzung hiefür ist aber, daß bei der Berechnung, Konstruktion und Ausführung die Bestimmungen der einschlägigen ÖNORMEN eingehalten werden. Die in dieser Norm angegebene Klassifizierung gilt im Regelfall für statisch bestimmt gelagerte Bauteile; statisch unbestimmt gelagerte Bauteile weisen bei gleichen Abmessungen in der Regel eine höhere Brandwiderstandsklasse auf.
