Diese ÖNORM ist auf eingängige Wälzfräser nach den ÖNORMEN M 6791-3 und -4 zur Herstellung von Verzahnungen
für Zylinderräder nach den ÖNORMEN M 6720-1 bis -3 anzuwenden.
Die in dieser ÖNORM festgelegten Toleranzen und zulässige Abweichungen gelten für Moduln m, über 0,63 pm bis 40 pm,
sowie für beliebige Eingriffswinkel.
Die Wälzfräser werden nach ihrer Genauigkeit in fünf Güteklassen AA, Al B, C und D hergestellt; davon ist AA
(Sonderklasse) die feinste und D die gröbste Güteklasse.
Das Fertigungsverfahren für die Wälzfräser der verschiedenen Güteklassen ist dem Hersteller freigestellt.
