Diese Norm enthält die Anforderungen an kontinuierlich schmelztauchveredelte Flacherzeugnisse mit Aluminium-Silicium-Überzügen aus weichen Stählen zum Kaltumformen sowie aus Baustählen in Dicken unter 3,0 mm. Als Dicke gilt die Enddicke des gelieferten Erzeugnisses nach dem Schmelztauchen. Die Erzeugnisse nach dieser Norm eignen sich für Verwendungszwecke, bei denen Hitzebeständigkeit und Korrosionswiderstand der Erzeugnisse im Vordergrund stehen. Diese Norm gilt nicht für schmelztauchveredelte Flacherzeugnise mit Überzügen aus reinem Aluminium (üblicherweise als Typ 2 bezeichnet).
