Die vorliegende Norm enthält die Anforderungen an kontinuierlich schmelztauchveredelte Flacherzeugnisse mit Aluminium-Silicium-Überzügen aus weichen Stählen zum Kaltumformen sowie aus Baustählen in Dicken kleiner gleich 3,0 mm. Als Dicke gilt die Enddicke des gelieferten Erzeugnisses nach dem Schmelztauchen. Diese Norm gilt für Band aller Breiten sowie für daraus abgelängte Bleche (Breite größer gleich 600 mm) und Stäbe (Breite kleiner als 600 mm). Der aus einer Aluminium-Silicium-Legierung bestehende Überzug wird durch Eintauchen der Erzeugnisse in ein Schmelzbad mit einem Siliciumgehalt von 8 % bis 11 % aufgebracht (auch als Typ 1 bezeichnet).
