Diese ÖNORM ist für alle werksmäßig endgefertigten Polyurethan-Hartschaumstoffe (PUR), die vorwiegend für die Wärmedämmung im Hochbau verwendet werden, anzuwenden. Sie enthält die an diese Dämmstoffe zu stellenden Anforderungen sowie die zugehörigen Verfahrensbestimmungen für die Prüfung im Sinne dieser ÖNORM, Überwachung und Kennzeichnung dieser Produkte. Andere Prüfungen (zB die Prüfung von Bauwerksproben) sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM. Die zur Feststellung der geforderten Eigenschaften notwendigen Prüfmethoden sind der ÖNORM B 6010 zu entnehmen. Diese ÖNORM ist auch für Polyurethan-Hartschaumstoff mit Deckschichten anzuwenden, soferne die Deckschichten bei der Herstellung fertigungsbedingt aufgebracht werden. Diese ÖNORM ist jedoch nicht für Polyurethan-Ortschaumstoff anzuwenden.
