This ÖNORM has to be applied for corrosion protection on the basis of organic materials for pipeline and plant components made of non-alloy and low-alloy ferrous materials, which are used for water supply, waste water disposal and waste water treatment within the domain of domestic and industrial use. This ÖNORM serves only for assessing the corrosion likelihood of non-alloy and low-allow ferrous materials and for determining the corrosion load likely to act upon the corrosion protection system. Excluded are the corrosion protection systems to be applied for machinery parts and for constructions made of steel as well as other protective measures which may be applied for pipes and tanks, such as zinc-coatings with additional protective layers, factory-made polyethylene sleeves and/or cement-mortar linings or site-applied cement-mortar-coatings and polyethylene sheeting; not included are also temporary protection systems for the storage and transport of pipeline and plant components.
