In der ÖNORM EN 12007-1 "Gasversorgungssysteme - Rohrleitungen mit einem maximal zulässigen Betriebsdruck bis einschließlich 16 bar - Teil 1: Allgemeine funktionale Empfehlungen" ist unter anderem auch die Überwachung von Erdgasleitungen geregelt. Um diese Bestimmungen zu präzisieren, hat die ÖVGW die vorliegende Richtlinie erstellt. Diese soll den Netzbetreiber nähere Details für die Überwachung von Erdgasleitungen mit Betriebsdrücken <= 5 bar geben und dient dazu, innerhalb von Österreich einen einheitlichen Standard vorzugeben. In der vorliegenden Fassung wurden neben redaktionellen Änderungen auch die Überprüfungsintervalle für sanierte Leitungen eingearbeitet.
