Die vorliegende Internationale Norm legt Sicherheitsanforderungen, konstruktive Anforderungen und Prüfungen für Anschlussdosen bis 1 500 V Gleichstrom für die Verwendung an Photovoltaik-Modulen nach Schutzklasse II von IEC 61140:2001 fest. Die vorliegende Norm gilt auch für Gehäuse, die auf PV-Modulen montiert sind und elektronische Schaltungen zur Umwandlung, Steuerung, Überwachung oder ähnliche Funktionen enthalten. Zusätzliche Anforderungen bezüglich der maßgeblichen Funktionen müssen unter Beachtung der Umweltbedingungen der PV Module angewandt werden. Die vorliegende Norm gilt nicht für elektronische Schaltungen dieser Einrichtungen,für die andere IEC-Normen zutreffen.
