Dieser Teil von ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 62489 gilt für Audiofrequenz-Induktionsschleifananlagen zur Unterstützung von Hörsystemen. Sie kann, falls geeignet, auch auf für andere Zwecke genutzte derartige Anlagen angewandt werden. Die Norm dient der Einschätzung der Belastung des Menschen durch niederfrequente vom System erzeugte Magnetfelder durch Berechnung und durch Prüfung vor Ort. Diese Norm befasst sich nicht mit Sicherheitsanforderungen, für welche ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 60065 gilt. EMV (Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit) wird ebenfalls nicht behandelt.
