Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Messung der Genauigkeit und Reproduzierbarkeit der Einstellung der Dämpfungswerte eines variablen Dämpfungsgliedes, das als passives Bauteil verwendet wird. Ein variables Dämpfungsglied wird schrittweise, wie in der maßgeblichen Spezifikation beschrieben, auf verschiedene Dämpfungswerte eingestellt. Bei jeder Einstellung wird die Dämpfung gemessen. In der Bauartspezifikation ist festgelegt, wie oft diese Messfolge wiederholt wird. Die Genauigkeit der einzelnen Dämpfungseinstellung ergibt sich dann aus der Differenz zwischen dem mittleren gemessenen Wert und dem Sollwert.
