Dieser Teil der ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 61300 zielt darauf ab, Einmoden-PC-LWL-Steckverbinder (PC: physischer Kontakt, en: physical contact) von LWL-Verbindungskabeln oder -Anschlusskabeln in Abhängigkeit von der Rückflussdämpfung auszusortieren, um damit die kleinste Rückflussdämpfung für den Fall sicherzustellen, dass die Steckverbinder, die einer Sortierprüfung nach diesem Verfahren unterzogen wurden, während ihres Einsatzes willkürlich miteinander verbunden werden.
