Diese Norm gilt nicht für Wäschetrockner, die Gas oder andere Brennstoffe für die Heizung verwenden. Der Zweck dieser Norm besteht in der Angabe und Definition der den Benutzer hauptsächlich interessierenden Gebrauchseigenschaften von elektrisch betriebenen Haushalts-Wäschetrocknern sowie der Beschreibung der Standardverfahren zum Messen dieser Eigenschaften.
