Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt, wenn die jeweilige Gerätenorm es erfordert, für Niederspannungsschaltgeräte, nachfolgend auch als "Geräte" bezeichnet, in Stromkreisen bis 1 000 V Wechselspannung oder 1 500 V Gleichspannung. Diese Norm legt die allgemeinen Festlegungen und allgemeinen Sicherheitsanforderungen für Niederspan-nungsschaltgeräte fest, einschließlich: - Begriffe; - kennzeichnende Merkmale; - mit den Geräten mitzuliefernde Informationen; - übliche Betriebs-, Einbau- und Transportbedingungen; - Anforderungen an den Bau und das Verhalten; - Nachweis der kennzeichnenden Merkmale und des Verhaltens; - Umweltaspekte. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Niederspannungs-Schaltgerätekombinationen, die in IEC 61439 (alle Teile) behandelt werden.
