Dieser Teil der IEC 60869 gilt für optische Leistungskontrollbauteile. Diese haben die folgenden allgemeinen Eigenschaften: - Sie sind passiv, d. h. sie enthalten keine optoelektronischen oder sonstigen Übertragungselemente; - sie haben zwei Anschlüsse zur Übertragung optischer Leistung und dämpfen die übertragene Leistung auf festgelegte oder einstellbare Art; - die Anschlüsse sind optische Fasern ohne Steckverbinder oder LWL-Pigtails mit Steckverbindern. Diese Norm legt einheitliche Anforderungen für die folgenden passiven optischen Bauteile fest: - Optische Dämpfungsglieder; - Optische Sicherungen; - Optische Leistungsbegrenzer.
