EN 60745 behandelt die Sicherheit handgeführter elektromotorisch oder -magnetisch betriebener Werkzeuge mit einer Bemessungsspannung der Elektrowerkzeuge bis 250 V für einphasige Wechselstrom- oder Gleichstromwerkzeuge und bis 440 V für dreiphasige Wechselstromwerkzeuge. Soweit es praktisch möglich ist, gilt diese Norm für die allgemeinen Gefährdungen, die von handgeführten Elektrowerkzeugen ausgehen und denen alle Personen beim bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch und beim vernünftigerweise vorhersehbaren Fehlgebrauch der Elektrowerkzeuge ausgesetzt sind. Diese Norm gilt für Schrauber und Schlagschrauber.
