Die vorliegende Norm legt entsprechend den Regeln in ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 60216-1 ein Verfahren für die Bestimmung des Temperaturindex von lackisolierten, mit einem Tränkmittel imprägnierten oder nicht imprägnierten und mit Band umwickelten Rund- und Flachdrähten bei atmosphärischem Luftdruck fest. Dieses Verfahren beruht auf der periodischen Überwachung der Änderungen des Verhaltens bei Wechsel-Spannungsprüfungen. Es ist nicht anwendbar auf faserisolierte Drähte oder Drähte, die mit Band umwickelt sind, das anorganische Fasern enthält.
