Der Aufbau entspricht ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 50174-2. Diese Europäische Norm beinhaltet die Anforderungen an ESHG-Verkabelungssysteme im Heimbereich. Außerdem werden die Anforderungen an die Hauptverkabelung in Gebäuden behandelt. ESHG-Funk-Systeme werden als Erweiterung oder Alternative hinsichtlich verkabelter Systeme betrachtet.
