Dieser Teil von IEC 904 gilt nur für kristalline Silizium-Einrichtungen. Dieses Schriftstück beschreibt ein zu bevorzugendes Verfahren für die Ermittlung der äquivalenten Zelltemperatur(ECT) von PV-Bauelementen (Zellen, Modulen und Modulfeldern) zum Zwecke des Vergleiches ihrer thermischen Kennwerte, der Ermittlung der Nennbetriebszelltemperatur (NOCT - nominal operating cell temperature) und Umrechnung von gemessenen I/U-Kennlinien auf andere Temperaturen. Es gilt nur für Bauelemente mit kristallinem Silizium.
