Diese Europäische Norm enthält die Anforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten für tragbare, transportable und ortsfeste Geräte der Gruppe II (nach Europäischer Norm EN 50054) für die Detektion und Messung von Konzentrationen brennbarer Gase oder Dämpfe in Luft. Die Geräte oder Teile davon sind für den Einsatz in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen, außer schlagwettergefährdeten Bergwerken (Geräte der Gruppe I) bestimmt. Die auf die in dieser Europäischen Norm behandelten Geräte anwendbaren allgemeinen Anforderungen und Prüfmethoden sind in der EN 50054 beschrieben.
