The present ON Rule describes the embedding of risk management into a management system. The starting point is the fact that risk management is a task and responsibility of the top management and executives of an organisation. To reflect this fact, the risk management process as laid down in ONR 49001 has to be understood, expressed and applied as a management process in various areas of the organisation. For risk management to become effective in the organisation, the risk management process should not be performed in isolation but should interact with the core processes of the organisation.
