This ÖNORM is applicable to monocable and bicable material ropeways, which are equipped with carrying and hauling ropes (bicable) or with hoisting ropes (monocable), respectively, and work in uni-directional or reversible mode. They are stationary and have one of the following characteristics:
a) an engine power of at least 3 kW or at least a braking power of similar size or
b) may convey usable concentrated loads of at least 1500 N in reversible mode or of at least 800 N in uni-directional mode or
c) have no more than 1000 working cycles per year.
This ÖNORM applies to systems with a maximum driving speed of up to 3.0 m/s.
