Diese ÖNORM ist für tragbare Sender zur Aktivierung von Hilfseinrichtungen an Verkehrslichtsignalanlagen und in weiterer Folge auch zum Abruf anderer Funktionen und Informationen (z.B. Linienansage, Aufzugsansage) anzuwenden. Die Auswahl in Betrieb befindlicher Anlagen, die mit Empfangsanlagen ausgestattet werden sollen, ist von den zuständigen Behörden gemeinsam mit den Vertretern der betroffenen Personenkreise (Selbsthilfegruppen der sehbehinderten und blinden Menschen und deren Fachleuten) zu treffen.
