Diese ÖNORM ist für tragbare Sender zur Aktivierung von Hilfseinrichtungen an Verkehrslichtsignalanlagen und in weiterer Folge auch zum Abruf anderer Funktionen und Informationen (zB Linienansage, Aufzugsansage) anzuwenden. Mit Hilfe eines tragbaren Senders ist es sehbehinderten und blinden Menschen möglich, an Verkehrslichtsignalanlagen die akustischen Signale auszulösen, die ihnen die Orientierung und das sichere Überqueren der Fahrbahn ermöglichen.
