This ÖNORM provides a procedure for determining the total dose induced by radionuclides in drinking water - the ingestion of the annual consumed quantity of drinking water resulted in effective dose including the contributions of long-lived radon decay products Pb-210 and Po-210, but without taking into account the contributions of tritium and potassium 40 - and set their evaluation in terms of adherence to a guideline value. The procedure is in principle applicable to all waters which are similar for ingestion due to a consumed quantity of drinking water.
