Diese ÖNORM enthält Regeln für die Errichtung und Ausstattung nuklearmedizinischer Betriebe, in denen radioaktive Stoffe in Diagnostik, Therapie oder Forschung verwendet werden, sofern dieser Umgang der Bewilligungspflicht nach dem Strahlenschutzgesetz unterliegt. Beschleunigeranlagen zur Herstellung radioaktiver Stoffe werden in dieser ÖNORM nicht berücksichtigt. Zwei Berechnungsbeispiele für einen Gammakameraraum und für die Funktionseinheit "Therapie" zeigen, wie die notwendigen Abschirmungen berechnet werden. In Anhängen werden Schwächungskurven sowie Halbwertszeiten und Dosisleistungskonstanten für verschiedene, in der Nuklearmedizin gebräuchliche Nuklide angegeben.
