Diese ÖNORM enthält Regeln für Strahlenschutzprüfungen von Röntgeneinrichtungen und -anlagen für Therapie im Rahmen von Erstprüfungen als Grundlage zur Betriebsbewilligung, nach Durchführung von Änderungen oder Erweiterungen sowie im Rahmen von wiederkehrenden Überprüfungen. Strahlenschutzprüfungen dienen der Beurteilung, ob für den beabsichtigten Betrieb einer Röntgeneinrichtung jene Einrichtungen vorhanden sind und Maßnahmen getroffen wurden, die nach dem Stand der Technik für einen ausreichenden Strahlenschutz erforderlich sind. Die Prüfung erstreckt sich auf Ausrüstung, Zustand und Funktion der Röntgeneinrichtung, des Zubehörs und der bautechnischen Strahlenschutzvorkehrungen, um festzustellen, ob durch das Zusammenwirken aller Komponenten der Röntgenanlage der Strahlenschutz von Patienten, Personal und sonstigen Personen sichergestellt ist.
