This ÖNORM is applicable on wet and dry cooling towers in natural ventilation construction method or with auxiliary ventilation by fans as well as on cooling tower systems, which are composed of individual cells to large-scale units to apply. This standard creates together with ÖNORM EN ISO 3746 and ÖNORM EN ISO 3744 the prerequisite for the determination of noises (noise emissions) that are directly emitted from cooling towers to the surrounding air, so that the results can be determined and that the results are comparable.
