Die Normenserie ÖNORM S 2109 regelt die Vernichtung von Akten und Daten auf unterschiedlichen Informationsträgern. Der vorliegende Teil 4 legt fest, unter welchen Bedingungen Daten in elektrischen und elektronischen Geräten und Geräteteilen aus technischer Sicht, je nach Grad der Schutzbedürftigkeit der Informationen, als vernichtet zu betrachten sind.
