Es werden handbetätigte Armaturen zum öffnen und Schließen von Gaswegen an und in Rohrleitungen mit Betriebsdrücken bisPN 40 (Azetylen bis PN 1,5) und Nennweiten bis DN 50, die zu Einrichtungen für das Schweißen, Schneiden oder für verwandte Verfahren führen, behandelt. Diese Armaturen sind im Regelfall Ventile, Kugelhähne oder Kegelhähne, für die Bauformen, Anschlüsse, sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfungen in der ÖNORM festgelegt sind. Besondere Beachtung wird der Beständigkeit der verwendeten Werkstoffe gegen die verwendeten Gase, der Eignung der verschiedenen Gleit- und Dichtmittel sowie der Eignung der Ventile für eine Dauerbeanspruchung bei unveränderter Dichtheit geschenkt.
