In dieser ÖNORM werden Anforderungen an Meßgeräte zur Bestimmung der NO-Konzentration von Verbrennungsgasen von Feuerstätten, welche mit konventionellen Brennstoffen betrieben werden, sowie Bestimmungen für die Typprüfung und die Normkennzeichnung dieser Geräte festgelegt. Die Geräte zur Messung der NO-Konzentration in Verbrennungsgasen arbeiten mit Probenahme eines Teilstromes nach chemischen oder physikalischen Meßprinzipien. Geräte im Sinne dieser ÖNORM sind nicht für die Bestimmung von Mittelwerten über Meßzeiträume von mehr als 15 min und nicht für kontinuierliche Messungen geeignet. Außerdem sind die Geräte nicht für Typprüfungen oder äquivalente Einzelprüfungen von Feuerungsanlagen verwendbar.
