This Austrian Standard is used to assess the contents of the following elements in the fine earth (<2 mm) and in the humus layer: arsenic (As), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni), mercury (Hg), selenium (Se), thallium (Tl), uranium (U), vanadium (V), zinc (Zn). These elements are natural in all soils against natural. Depending on the content they can also have negative effects on the environment.
