This Austrian Standard applies to ventilation and air conditioning systems and their components in buildings and rooms used for health and social purposes, where medical examinations, treatments and surgical interventions on persons are carried out. This includes Hospitals and other according to KAKuG (Krankenanstalten- und Kuranstaltengesetz) authorized institutions, i.e. dialysis centres, ambulatories, convalescent homes, sanatoriums, rehab hospitals and care facilities. The scope of this ÖNORM also includes operation, maintenance as well as hygienic, technical and economic inspections of ventilation and air conditioning systems. Additionally it gives notes for ventilation and air conditioning systems for non-medical use.
