This standard specifies requirements for demands figures, floor space, distances and the installation heights of sanitary furnishings such as sinks, bathtubs, showers, urinals, seat sinks, toilet bowls.
The standard also defines criteria for the selection and arrangement of fittings in combination with sanitary fixtures. It serves to ensure the proper function of the sanitary fitting with the respective basin.
This standard applies to all sanitary rooms.
Following requirements are not in the scope of this standard
- sanitary rooms for barrier-free construction, which are given in the OIB guideline 4 "Safety of use and accessibility" as well as in ÖNORM B 1600, ÖNORM B 1601, ÖNORM B 1602 and ÖNORM B 1603;
- the execution as well as the materials of sanitary furnishings.
