Diese Europäische Vornorm regelt die fachgerechte Planung und Ausführung von Mauerwerk. Es werden folgende Aspekte der Mauerwerksplanung bzw. -ausführung behandelt: - Auswahl der Baustoffe - Techniken, um Mauerwerk-Baustoffe zu verbinden sowie andere Materialien einzuarbeiten, um die benötigte Funktionalität zu erreichen - Faktoren, die die Eigenschaften und die Dauerhaftigkeit des Mauerwerks beeinflussen - Widerstand gegen Feuchteeindringung in Gebäude - Lagerung, Vorbereitung und Anwendung von Baustoffen auf der Baustelle - Errichtung von Wänden und vom Anschluss von Wand zu Wand und an andere Bauelemente - Schutzmaßnahmen während der Bauausführung. Je nach Notwendigkeit werden "verbindliche Regeln" oder "Anwendungsregeln" dargelegt.
