Diese Internationale Norm legt ein im Laboratorium ohne großen Aufwand durchführbares Klassierungsverfahren für den Vergleich des relativen Brandverhaltens von vertikal ausgerichteten, dünnen und relativ biegsamen Probekörpern aus Kunststoff fest, die mit einer kleinen Zündquelle beflammt werden. Diese Probekörper können nicht nach Verfahren B von IEC 60695-11-10:1999 geprüft werden, da sie sich während der Beflammung verdrehen oder schrumpfen, ohne sich zu entzünden. Mit diesem Prüfverfahren werden die Nachbrenndauer und die Nachglimmdauer der Probekörper bestimmt.
