Diese Internationale Norm legt ein horizontales Verfahren zum Nachweis von Salmonellen fest, einschließlich Salmonella Typhi und Salmonella Paratyphi. Die Norm gilt für Produkte, die für den menschlichen Verzehr oder als Futtermittel bestimmt sind und für Umgebungsproben im Bereich der Herstellung von Lebensmitteln und beim Umgang mit Lebensmitteln. Diese ÖNORM enthält die Europäischen Berichtigungen AC:2003 und AC:2006 sowie die Europäische Änderung A1:2007. Der Anwendungsbereich sowie die Abschnitte 9.5.3.7, B.2, B.3.1.1 und B.3.1.2 wurden korrigiert. Weiters wurde der normative Anhang D "Nachweis von Salmonella spp. in Tierkot und in Umgebungsproben aus der Primärproduktion" hinzugefügt.
