In der vorliegenden Norm ist das Verfahren für die Prüfung von Härteprüfmaschinen zur Bestimmung der Vickershärte nach ISO/DIS 6507-1 festgelegt. In dieser Norm ist ein direktes Prüfverfahren zur Prüfung von Hauptfunktionen der Prüfmaschine und ein indirektes Prüfverfahren, das für die Ermittlung der Gesamtabweichung der Prüfmaschine geeignet ist, festgelegt. Das indirekte Prüfverfahren kann für die regelmäßige Routineüberprüfung beim Anwender eingesetzt werden. Wird eine Prüfmaschine auch für andere Härteprüfverfahren verwendet, muß sie unabhängig für jedes Verfahren geprüft werden.
