Die Normenserie EN ISO 4628 behandelt die Probeentnahme und Prüfung von Anstrichstoffen, Lacken und verwandten Erzeugnissen. Im vorliegenden Teil werden bildliche Referenznormale für die Bezeichnung des Kreidungsgrades von Anstrichfarbschichten festgelegt. Außerdem wird eine Methode beschrieben, mit deren Hilfe der Kreidungsgrad bewertet werden kann. Bei der Anwendung dieser Methode ist es wichtig, zwischen den echten Schädigungsprodukten und anhaftendem Schmutz zu unterscheiden.
