Dieser ist für gesinterte WC/Co-Hartmetalle (auch als Sinterhartmetalle oder Cermets bezeichnet) vorgesehen, die hauptsächlich WC als harte Phase haben. Er ist ebenfalls für die Messung der Korngröße und deren Verteilung mit dem Linienschnittverfahren vorgesehen.
