Diese Norm enthält allgemeine Regeln und sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen für Hydraulikanlagen und deren Bauteile in Maschinen nach ISO 12100-1:2003, Absatz 3.1. Sie benennt Gefährdungen in Verbindung mit Hydraulikanlagen und legt Prinzipien fest, die anzuwenden sind, um jene Gefährdungen bei der bestimmungsgemäßen Verwendung der Anlage zu vermeiden. Die festgelegten Prinzipien gelten für die Konstruktion, den Bau und die Modifizierung von neuen Anlagen und deren Bauteilen unter weiterer Berücksichtigung der folgenden Aspekte: Montage; Einbau; Einrichtung; störungsfreier Betrieb der Anlage; einfache und wirtschaftliche Instandhaltung und Reinigung; zuverlässiger Betrieb bei allen vorgesehenen Anwendungen; and Energieeffizienz.
