Diese Internationale Norm legt Verfahren zur Messung der Nachhallzeit in Räumen fest. Sie legt das Messverfahren, die benötigten Geräte, die erforderliche Anzahl der Messpunkte und das Verfahren zur Auswertung der Daten und zur Abfassung des Prüfberichts fest. Die Messergebnisse dürfen für die Korrektur weiterer akustischer Messungen angewendet werden, z. B. die Bestimmung des Schalldruckpegels von Schallquellen oder Messungen der Schalldämmung. Die Ergebnisse dürfen auch für den Vergleich mit den Anforderungen an die Nachhallzeit in Räumen eingesetzt werden. Diese Norm ist nicht auf Konzertsäle und weitere Veranstaltungsräume anwendbar.
