Diese Internationale Norm legt Anforderungen für die Einteilung von Massivdrähten und Massivstäben zum
Schmelzschweißen von Titan und Titanlegierungen fest. Die Einteilung der Massivdrähte und Massivstäbe
erfolgt nach ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung.
Bei Titan-Schweißzusätzen weist die Massivdrahtelektrode für den MIG-Prozess (Metall-Inertgasschweißen)
dieselbe Zusammensetzung auf wie für den WIG-Prozess (Wolfram-Inertgasschweißen), für den Plasma-
Schweißprozess, für den Laserstrahlprozess und für andere Schmelzschweißprozesse. Daher gilt in dieser
Einteilungsnorm die Bezeichnung ¿Massivdrähte/Massivstäbe¿ sowohl für ¿Massivdrahtelektroden¿ als auch
für ¿Massivdrähte und Massivstäbe".
