In der Norm werden die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren festgelegt und ein Klassifikationssystem eingeführt. Es werden jedoch keine allgemeinen brandtechnischen Sicherheitsprüfungen vorgestellt; es ist daher nicht der Zweck dieser Norm, andere Zündquellen zu berücksichtigen.
