Die Porenbetonsteine nach dieser Norm werden für nichttragendes und tragendes Mauerwerk verwendet. Die Norm beschreibt ihre Verwendung von für- und zweischalige Wänden, Trennwänden, Stützmauern, Kellerwände sowie für Brand-, Wärme- und Schallschutzmauern. Die Norm beschreibt die Klassifizierung von Porenbetonsteinen, deren Probenahme und Prüfung sowie die Kennzeichnung, enthält aber keine Anforderungen an geschoßhohe Platten.
