Es sind die technischen Sicherheitsanforderungen und Maßnahmen für Konstruktion, Bau und Lieferung (einschließlich Installation und Demontage mit Vereinbarungen über Transport und Wartung) für mechanische Pressen enthalten. Diese dienen der Kaltbearbeitung von Metall oder teilweise aus kaltem Metall bestehenden Werkstoffen (inklusive Metallpulver). Es sind auch Angaben über zusätzliche Werkstoffhandhabungseinrichtungen, die fester Teil der Presse sind, enthalten. Diese Norm ist eine Norm des Typs C und baut auf den Angaben von EN 292 auf (unter Einbeziehung der Normen der Typen A und B ).
