Diese Norm gilt nur für Feuerwehrschutzhandschuhe, die die Hände bei normalen Feuerbekämpfungstätigkeiten einschließlich Bergung und Rettung schützen. Diese Feuerwehrschutzhandschuhe sind nicht für Arbeiten mit flüssigen Chemikalien vorgesehen, sie bieten einen gewissen Schutz bei versehentlichem Kontakt mit Chemikalien. Feuerwehrschutzhandschuhe für besondere Feuerbekämpfungstätigkeiten sind außerhalb des Anwendungsbereiches dieser Norm.
