ÖNORM EN 485-1 legt die technischen Lieferbedingungen für Bänder, Bleche und Platten aus Aluminium und Aluminium-Knetlegierungen für allgemeine Verwendungen fest. Sie enthält außerdem Festlegungen bezüglich Bestellung und Prüfung. Sie gilt für Erzeugnisse mit einer Dicke über 0,20 mm bis 400 mm. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Vorwalzbänder und nicht für spezielle Anwendungen wie beispielsweise Luft- und Raumfahrt, Herstellung von Dosen und Verschlüssen, Wärmeaustauscher usw., welche in gesonderten Normen abgehandelt werden.
