Behandelt sind allgemeine Anforderungen an Meßverfahren für chemische Arbeitsstoffe, die in der Luft am Arbeitsplatz auftreten können. Sie gelten für alle derartigen Meßverfahren unabhängig vom chemischen oder physikalischen Zustand des Arbeitsstoffes (Gas, Dampf, Schwebstoff) und unabhängig von der Art der Probennahme und vom eingesetzten Analyseverfahren. Erfaßt sind sowohl Meßverfahren mit getrennter Probennahme und analytischer Bestimmung als auch solche für direkt anzeigende Meßgeräte, die Grundlage für weitere Normen über spezielle Meßverfahren und Geräte für Arbeitsplatzmessungen sind.
