Behandelt sind notwendige Informationen zur Erläuterung der Anforderungen für die nach EN 288-1:1992 mögliche Anerkennung des Einsatzes von Normschweißverfahren. Normschweißverfahren sind durch einen unabhängigen Prüfer oder eine unabhängige Prüfstelle anzuerkennen. Festgelegt sind die Bedingungen, Grenzen und Geltungsbereiche, die für den Gebrauch von Normschweißverfahren notwendig sind. Der Anwender eines Normschweißverfahrens ist für die richtige Auswahl und Anwendung des Normschweißverfahrens verantwortlich. Die Durchführung einer Prüfung des Schweißverfahrens durch den Anwender ist beim Einsatz des Normschweißverfahrens vor dem Beginn der Fertigung nicht erforderlich.
