Für Abmessungen ohne Toleranzangabe sind die Allgemeintoleranzen für Form- und Lagetoleranzen im Nennmaßbereich bis 3000 mm in drei Toleranzklassen festgelegt. Für Nennmaße über 3000 mm bis 8000 mm ist ÖNORM M 1365 Teil 1 anzuwenden. Im nationalen Vorwort sind die Änderungen gegenüber der bisherigen ÖNORM M 1364, November 1984 angeführt. Der Anwendungsbereich umfaßt metallische und nichtmetallische Formelemente, die durch Spanen oder Umformen gefertigt wurden. Mit den Toleranzen sollen Formelemente in Zeichnungen erfaßt werden, die nicht mit einzeln eingetragenen Toleranzen in Form und Lage versehen sind. Die Toleranzwerte der Genauigkeitsklassen sind für die entsprechenden Nennmaßbereiche festgelegt. Im Anhang ist ein Konzept zur Anwendung angeführt.
